Piano & Keyboard

At Cadence Music piano instruction covers all areas of music to help the student become proficient on their instrument. Our curriculum involves learning how to read music notation (melodic and harmonic),music history and theory, song form, music analysis and more.

While covering all of these topics the half an hour one on one lesson is also tailored to each student. Students are encouraged to bring in music of their choice to the instructor so they can learn the piece. Our instructors can also help the student prepare for auditions of any kind and any genre.

The story of the piano begins in Padua, Italy in 1709, in the shop of a harpsichord maker named Bartolomeo di Francesco Cristofori (1655-1731). Many other stringed and keyboard instruments preceded the piano and led to the development of the instrument as we know it today. The invention of the piano is credited to Bartolomeo Cristofori (1655–1731) of Padua, Italy, who was employed by Ferdinando de’ Medici, Grand Prince of Tuscany, as the Keeper of the Instruments.
